Mitchell J. Roth is a composer, conductor, instrumentalist, and student from Detroit, Michigan. They write innovative instrumental music for musicians of all levels, in addition to digital music and film scores. An experienced timpanist and bass trombonist, he performs regularly with collegiate and community ensembles. He studies orchestral conducting while working towards degrees in Music and Mathematical Economics (honors) with a minor in Statistics at Wayne State University.

Mitchell has worked with several esteemed directors to bring his music to life for audiences in the state of Michigan and beyond. With various ensembles under the direction of Kevin Scollin, Katie Fauls, Peggy Babcock, and Damien Crutcher, Mitchell innovates within and beyond the scope of educational band music. The composer has experience writing for the marching arts as well.


Mitchell's solo and ensemble works are in demand with Metro Detroit chamber ensembles, and custom works in this vein are available by commission. Most of Mitchell's music is distributed by the composer, though select works are published by Randall Standridge Music and Grand Mesa Music.
